Arts in Montford Park
The neighborhood’s first mural “Burgeoning” was created by local artist Sharon Dowell at ParkTowne Village. Painted in just a week and a half, Dowell had help from artists Christopher Holston, Kalin Devone, Swych, Claire Santos and Felicia Sutton to create her masterpiece.
Burgeoning is a botanical mural injects art into an unexpected area for visitors when they round the corner or drive by in Charlotte, NC.

As Montford Park grows, we believe its walls, walkways, and public spaces should grow with it — not as blank surfaces, but as canvases that reflect the people who live here.
Montford Park Partners is committed to bringing more public art to the neighborhood: murals, installations, and creative activations that transform overlooked spaces into something worth stopping for. We want art in Montford Park to feel like it belongs here — because it does. It is made by neighbors, for neighbors, rooted in the character and life of this place.
Our aim is simple: more beauty, in more corners of Montford Park, for everyone who calls it home.
